ICONS OF BUSINESS

This collection of sculptures was inspired by the artist's self-made grandfather from Prague, honoring the legacy of entrepreneurship and innovation. Over several years, the artist developed a close rapport with Australia's most influential business leaders, who graciously welcomed her into their lives and shared their stories.

The creative process began with miniature portrait busts, which served as studies for the life-size works. Each bust was sculpted in clay before being meticulously cast in plaster using traditional mold-making techniques. Drawing on expertise gained at Atelier Moulage Patine in Paris, the artist added a distinctive polychrome finish using shellac and acrylic paint, giving the sculptures a refined bronze-like appearance. Some of the works were also cast in bronze.

The collection toured nationally, receiving widespread acclaim and support from regional galleries, businesses, and the public. At the launch event, NSW Premier Barry O'Farrell reflected on the work's impact, stating, "We need to elevate people's aspirations, to encourage them to strive for greatness, much like the individuals in this room who are honored by these sculptures." Today, the pieces are dispersed across museums, public collections, private collections, and the artist's studio, continuing to inspire viewers with their celebration of achievement, legacy, and ambition.
